KALAMAZOO (BY GIBSON) KG-31 SUNBURST ARCHTOP HOLLOW BODY ACOUSTIC GUITAR W/CASE

Up for sale a Kalamazoo (by Gibson) KG-31 Sunburst Archtop Hollow Body Acoustic Guitar w/Case!  This beautiful vintage instrument is a Used Model in Good Cosmetic Condition and in Perfect Playing Condition.  On this one, there is a small wood crack (repaired) on the lower body top (see 12th picture), there is a slight wear to the upper part of the fingerboard (see 24th picture)  and there are several scratches, marks, dents, notches, paint chips, finish cracks, finish/plating deterioration and other signs of wear here and there (see 11th to 25th pictures).  The Hardware Parts and  Guitar Finish have been cleaned and polished the by our professional luthier.  Also, note that the tuners are slightly hard to turn.  Unit comes in its Hard Case.

MODIFICATIONS : the Original Strap Pin has been replaced (see 4th picture), one of the Gear Screws has been changed on the tuners (see 8th picture) and the Fretboard has been fully Refretted (see 6th and 24th pictures)

KALAMAZOO KG-31 ACOUSTIC ARCHTOP (1936-1940)

In the late 1930s, the Gibson guitar company decided to offer their own entry level guitars. While similar to models built for other distributors (Cromwell, Fascinator, or Capital) in construction, the Kalamazoo line was originally only offered for about five years. Models included flattop and archtop acoustics, lap steels (and amps), and mandolins.

Pre-war Kalamazoo instruments, like other Gibson budget instruments, do not have an adjustable truss rod (a key difference), have different construction techniques, and have no identifying Gibson logo.
