As an Orange signature artist, he now has two pieces of gear bearing his name: the Glenn Hughes Signature O-Bass and the Glenn Hughes Crush Bass 50 combo. It’s a rare, purple-coloured salute reserved for legends, and Hughes wears it perfectly.

The Glenn Hughes Signature O Bass is a stripped-back, retro-styled bass guitar with a huge voice, finished in distinctive Deep Purple with chequerboard purfling to the body and headstock. Designed in-house by Orange, it takes inspiration from classic single-pickup designs of the 60s, but reimagined with custom placement of its Seymour Duncan SPB-1 pickup and a sleek, lightweight body for modern players. Plug it in and you’ll get anything from smooth Motown warmth to bright, aggressive punk grit, just by adjusting your playing dynamics and tone.
